Utilizing the rail system, existing and new train can be repurposed with program and as the medium for art. Train art will provide access to the arts as it also provides accessible housing. Additional rail lines will be made to accommodate new programs as well as accessible walkways over rail lines. Platforms will include ramps, making each train accessible for all.

This design combines multisensory experiences with art. Predominantly focused on the visual aspect of the senses, forms of visual art are imposed on Silo City. The Lake and Rail was chosen to house these spaces because of its lack of fenestration and to utilize its length. This allows artists to have the ability to control their own light in the silos given. To make this exhibit more affordable to begin constructing, only a third of the interior space is being used. The rest has been left for any expansion of the exhibit in the future. To generate income and visitor attraction, my exhibit will house a few signature artist galleries, known for their work with light and color, such as James Turrell and Jenny Holzer.

The grain silo building is transformed into a brewery and distillery, open to the public with various restauration and exhibition spaces. Both the brewery and distillery processes are visible from the restaurants, as well as from the art gallery. Additionally, the banquet space located on the top floor provides the best view of Silo City. This space can be used to host various events and has access to a large outdoor terrace for a better look at the city.

Taking advantage of both the strategic position of the grain silos and their height, the objective of this project is to create a unique “elevated dining” experience with exclusive views to the lake and the Silo City skyline. The structure of the building is reinforced to accomodate a restaurant and lounge on the roof, and host multiple gallery spaces.
