The objective of this park is to create a place where the richess of history as well as nature can be combined together to create a unique experience in Buffalo. Entertainment and education are combined through the medium of sky and water related activities to allow visitors to learn more about the Buffalonian history. Visitors can either look back towards downtown or enjoy the limitless beauty of Lake Erie on the other side.

The Active Skyline takes advantage of the views of the existing skyway and all of its surroundings to benefit the health and interests of the public of Buffalo. The areas around the skyline are very well linked to athletics with the Buffalo Sabres and Bandits playing adjacent to it as well as The Buffalo Bisons not far away. Connections to the NFTA Station and the Buffalo Rail will allow Buffalonians access and the local gyms will encourage the members of those gyms to utilize the Active Skyline. The project is composed of different zones that include an area for retail and rental, sledding and park, restaurant and viewing of Buffalo sports, and an athletic complex, that are all laced together with the track.

The Erie Canal Harbor Pavilion occupies part of the skyway near Erie Canal harbor central wharf. It creates a connection between citizen life and the history of Erie Canal, waterfront green and civic space. It also provides indoor and outdoor spaces for families and visitors to enjoy their leisure time in different seasons and times. The small waterfalls and steel facade that look like the section of canal emphasize the historical position of Erie Canal in Buffalo.

Up-Above Land is unlike any other Amusement park, it is a proposal to reuse downtown Buffalo’s skyway. Its position on top of the Buffalo Skyway allows it to be a one of kind experience. The thrill of riding your favorite rides, is intensified by being placed 80’ in the air. There are shops and entertainment at the park, which make it enjoyable for a variety of people. The park is open all year round and some of the activities offered change depending on the season. No public car access is allowed on the skyway. A trolley system takes visitors to and from the park.
