The food hub

ARC605 | Fall 2014
Professor Edward Steinfeld

The Food Hub Incubator is designed to be a model for local programs seeking to improve healthy eating and nutrition for their communities. It will provide equipment, training, mentorship and office space to help develop and create neighborhood food hubs. It would be one of the first of its kind in the U.S. The programs offered will include teaching cooking classes for youth and adults, culinary skills for employment in the hospitality industry, food based co-op business development, community catering, etc. The students in the Inclusive Design Graduate Research Group in the School of Architecture and Planning at the University at Buffalo developed concepts for the site. The collection of diverse ideas created by the students demonstrate the true potential for the space.
